Our Projects
Education
From our Trust Machigar Samaj Seva Sangh, we try to provide and run a basic literacy program to educate all the poor people of Dharavi. Education is the movement from darkness to light. If we want to bring light to the lives of poor and deprived class people we have to educate their children. If a person has the basic knowledge to read and write nobody can cheat him or her. Education should start right from childhood. Establish equality in society education is a must and with the help of this, he or she knows about his or her rights. For the development of society, education is necessary. It is said that education is the key to success. This is true. To prove this and to increase the literacy rate in slum areas and remote and rural areas of Maharashtra we are working for 46 consecutive years. Our main aim is to provide education to get secured in life and bring a sustainable change in the lives of poor and socioeconomic class people.
Social Welfare
Machigar Samaj Seva Sangh wants to eliminate this caste-based discrimination and want to ensure equality and provides equal rights for all. In Maharashtra, racism is present even today in the minds of some people. They are some powerful ones who constantly try to draw a distinction among the deprived and backward class people and elite class people. For the welfare of these people, we are trying so hard. We have taken several initiatives to bring a change in their lifestyle. For the well-being of common people, we organize health programs. Here we try to create awareness about some dreaded diseases like HIV/AIDS, TB, Hepatitis. We teach people to have pure drinking water as this is important for their health. It saves lives and it can spoil the lives if it is polluted. So creating awareness and educating them about all these is our primary task.
Women Empowerment
If you ask Google what is the role of a woman? It will say “The Role of Women as Caretakers”. In every state, every country the role is the same. Primarily, women take care of the children and elders of her family. So women are the pioneers of a family and it is the responsibility of a family to take the utmost care of the women of that family. Simultaneously, if a woman will get empowered she can maintain her family easily. Women’s empowerment is important for society also. From Machigar Samaj Seva Sangh we took an oath to give empowerment to every eligible woman of the remote and rural areas of Maharashtra. We provide vocational courses and training to get them empowered and earn for their own and for their
families. We think this will develop the quality of life of those areas. Creating awareness is also necessary to let all people know about the value of women in everyone’s life.
Social Marriage
From our NGO Machigar Samaj Seva Sangh we try to arrange social marriages for bachelor boys and girls. We also organize the mass marriage program for the Adivasi peoples in the backward region of Maharashtra. Our organization is doing a remarkable job and mark its footsteps in the mind of common people and we are very proud of that. In countries like India poverty is one of the main causes that a woman has to strive for her marriage. Not only that person her whole family suffers to get her married.
One more thing is the dowry system which is ruining our society from grassroots level. Sometimes these pressures lead girls to commit suicide. Keeping all these in mind our organization Machigar Samaj Seva Sangh comes forward and takes up all the responsibilities. We mainly work for those girls whose families can’t afford the cost of their marriage. We bear all the expenditures that are required for a wedding by helping brides and her families.
Legal Aid
Machigar Samaj Seva Sangh works for poor and deprived people and to provide them all the necessary facilities we are striving hard. In our Indian Consitution, there are 6 fundamental rights for every citizen of India. But in our country, people often get neglected because they don’t know what are their rights. Sometimes influential people also betray poor class which is so heinous.
India is known as the largest democratic, secular and sovereign country in this world. This is our pride that we are the citizens of India. But the people of India who belong to rural and remote areas, live below the poverty line are more neglected. It is the duty of our NGO to provide and protect the common people with all their fundamental rights which they should get as a human being and a citizen of India. We also try to give proper guidance and legal aid to the people who are deprived and from poor, backward and socioeconomic class. As a welfare organization, we think helping these people and guiding them in the right way is our primary task.
Housing Project For Needy Members
From Bandivali Vidya Mandir Trust we run and manage housing projects. We have so many members but some of them are from poor and needy class and from socioeconomic section. They don’t have proper habitat. A hygienic and protected place is needed to live a healthy life. From our Trust we try to provide them a home where they can live happily.
